Search and Jump To

Use Nozbe’s built-in Search to find your tasks, projects, sections, tags, and space members.

You can find the Search button at the top of the left panel, next to the name of your space.

Search button

You can also trigger search with a keyboard shortcut: ⌘K on macOS/iOS or CTRL + K on Windows/Android

A window with the “Jump to” option appears. Here you can type your search query to jump to the searched item, for example a task, a project, a tag or any other task list in Nozbe. Once you start typing, you will see the list of results. Have you mistyped something? No problem - the mechanism will still find relevant results, even if the name is not spelled correctly.

To narrow the list, you can use one of the presets located below the search bar:

Fuzzy search

By default, the search mechanism in Nozbe is fuzzy. This means that apart from looking for the exact phrase you typed in, the search engine will also look for tasks and projects which name contains individual keywords from the searched phrase. If the list of results is short, the search engine will also take syllables and letters from the searched phrase into account.

You can disable fuzzy search by clicking the gear icon ⚙️ > Settings > Advanced > turn off the “Enable fuzzy search” option.

Search in completed tasks

If the task you are searching for is not on the list of results in the Jump To window, use the Search in completed tasks option. Type in the task’s name or a part of it, then hit “Search in completed tasks”.

At the top of search results you will see all active tasks that match the searched phrase, followed by matching completed tasks.
